The Nest smoke and carbon monoxide alarm has sensors with a 10-year lifespan to help keep your family safe for up to a decade. Nest Protect, a device that speaks up in a friendly voice to give you an early warning when there's smoke or CO in your home, is equipped with a Split Spectrum Sensor that looks for both fast burning and smoldering fires, and tells you where the danger is. You can also receive phone alerts to know something's wrong even when you're away from home.

The CO detector in Nest Protect looks out for carbon monoxide and informs you of its location. With the App Silence feature, you can silence the smoke alarm with your phone in the Nest app when there's only a little smoke. Unlike traditional alarms, Nest Protect does not have any chirps to indicate a low battery; instead, it tests its own batteries and provides a Nightly Promise when you turn off the lights, ensuring you know everything is working.

Nest Protect also has a unique Pathlight feature. Usually, the device's light is turned off, but when you walk underneath it, the light can illuminate your way. With the Safety Check function, you can test all your smoke and CO alarms with just a tap and receive a full report once the test is complete.

Connect Nest Protect to Wi-Fi, and it will send an alert to your phone if the alarm goes off or the batteries run low, allowing you to know what's happening from anywhere. The device speaks up to inform you if there's smoke or CO and where the problem is, so you can take the appropriate action. It has Bluetooth 4.0 LE and Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) connectivity.

Nest Protect is the first alarm you can hush from your phone using the App Silence feature.
