The smoke detector is a photoelectric smoke alarm device that is more sensitive to detecting slow smolder fires, which generate thick, black smoke and may smolder for hours before bursting into flames. The unit has a highly sensitive real-time detection mechanism.

When the smoke concentration reaches the threshold, the alarm will trigger an 85dB (within three metres) sound, accompanied by flashing red lights, providing a high-decibel sound and light reminding.

The battery of the GS528A is a one-year replaceable battery, but the product can have a 10-year lifespan, which is longer than other smoke detectors. This ensures that the smoke alarm can be used for an extended period with continuous battery replacement.
